Grittleton House has all the attributes required for a fantastic school activity centre and is within easy reach of the M4 corridor providing easy travel opportunities to and from centre.
Accommodation
Our number one priority for all children staying at Grittleton House is that they feel safe and secure during their time with us, and that as a teacher you have the required support that you need from the Grittleton team to ensure this is achieved. A member of our team is on call 24 hours a day, plus our staff will be on duty till 10pm at night to support you at bed time if needed. There is CCTV coverage and all external doors are Key Coded.
The accommodation at Grittleton is split between 2 areas of the centre, The Manor House, The Stable Block and The Clock Tower.
Manor House
The Manor House comprises of 28 bedrooms sleeping up to 150 children in spacious dormitories of 4-10. Children stay in either bunk or single beds. These rooms are split over 2 floors with schools assigned their own accommodation section within the main building. Each school has their own separate boys and girls bathrooms. Each section has multiple lockable teacher bedrooms and separate bathrooms for teachers.
Stable Block
The Stable Block, converted from the original Victorian Stables, offer ensuite accommodation over for up to 60 children plus lockable teacher bedrooms. The Stable Block has all ground floor rooms and includes a mobility access room
Clock Tower
The Clock Tower found just across the cobbled courtyard from the Old Stable Block, the Clock Tower has 7 ensuite bedrooms and can accommodate up to 30 children plus teachers
Meals
The restaurant at Grittleton House is located on the ground floor of The Clock Tower part of the Stable Block. This restaurant has a capacity for approx. 100 children per sitting.
Our catering team wherever possible use locally sourced ingredients.
We aim to offer healthy balanced menu presented in a way that is familiar and appetising to children. Specific dietary requirements and allergies will be catered for but must be notified well in advance of your visit.
There is a kitchenette in the main house staff lounge where teachers can make hot drinks and prepare drinks for the group throughout the day and evening.
All meals are prepared on site and we can cater for almost all dietary requirements.
